Editorial policy
This page explains how CocoaExplained researches, writes and corrects its guides.
How we research
Our preferred sources are scientific and academic research, government and regulatory bodies, recognised industry and trade organisations, and first-hand tasting and testing, which we label as our own opinion. Sources are linked at the end of each guide.
Independence
Opinions are our own. If a product is sent to us free, or we earn money from a link, we will say so clearly on that page.
Corrections
If you find an error, email desichakallas0@gmail.com. We correct confirmed mistakes promptly and note significant changes at the top of the article.
Updates
Guides show an updated date. The date changes only when we make a real change to the content.
Health and safety
CocoaExplained is for general information. We avoid health claims that we cannot support with reliable sources, and nothing here replaces advice from a doctor or dietitian.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help with research, outlining and first drafts. Every article is then checked against its sources and edited and approved by a person before it is published. Where useful, we also take into account honest consumer reviews and tasting feedback. AI is a drafting aid, not a substitute for checking the facts.
